This assignment turned out well for me and was a lot of fun to do! On the weekend it was dark and rainy so it was harder to get a picture of a bright fall day. However, we got to take pictures in class on a sunny day outside which turned out great.

This project was challenging because there was a fine line between my subject moving too fast or too slow. I first tried by taking photos of my sister but it didn't work because we weren't moving fast enough. I found more success in photographing my dog who was moving a bit faster.
This was my generic or cliche photo. It's the typical concert photo you always see. You can't really see the performer, the lights won't let you focus the camera properly, and it's always a bit blurry. This one is a lot more original. I almost got trampled over taking this picture but you do what you got to do to get a good grade. I had someone lift me up so I got the angle I wanted and I did it when the performer had a bunch of people on stage with him so that makes the photo that much more interesting.
This photo was inspired by Martin Stranka. His photos are very dark and creepy almost. He focuses on surreal photography which is basically having people doing things that can't be done. He'll have a person floating in the air or someone with their body bending is weird ways. That was the one challenge of taking this photo. He has some more normal looking photos that still look surreal so that's more of what I went for. Also most of his photos have a filter over them so I edited the photo using snap seed. When taking these photos I thought I would end up liking the asymmetrical photo better. I actually like the symmetrical photo better, I just find it nicer to look at. Maybe because there are other symmetrical elements to the photo so her being entered goes better with the way the photo was taken. SymmetricalAsymmetricalI had an amazing summer at my Summer cottage in Ontario! It was full of laughs, lakeside fun, and adventures! I took all of the photos except for the one of me doing my favourite Summer activity wake surfing.
2) I liked Franks response to the photo. In my opinion I believe that most people that found the photo offensive felt that because of the people body language. They look super relaxed and like nothing had happened. 3) I believe it is important we understand the background story of photos if it’s controversial. If people are judging it harshly because they don’t understand what is really going on then an explanation should be made. 4) I believe this is one one of the most artistic photos of 9/11. It shows a completely different perspective than what most of the other photos we’ve seen. It shows almost an outsiders look. |
